I have been in education for 38 years.  My career as a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent has been extremely rewarding.  I was born and raised in Osnabrock, ND and spent most of my career in North Dakota. I graduated with a social science teaching degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND and received my master’s degree in education administration from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. My wife, Danette and I have been married for 38 years. We raised our family in Hillsboro, ND where I was the high school principal for 11 years.   Our five children are Kacey (Catherine, Annie, Emma), Kinsey Essler (Jared, Carter, McKenna, Kira), Kade (Amy, Landyn), Kyle and Kiley. We have six wonderful grandchildren! I am currently in my third year as Superintendent of the Hot Springs School District.   I enjoy golf, biking, hiking and spending time at our lake place in Detroit Lakes, MN. I look forward to helping the students, staff and community of Hot Springs.
Have a great school year!
