Parent Ed Camp and student orientation 2016-17

Dear Parents and Students:
 
On behalf of the administration, faculty, and staff at Hot Springs High School, we welcome you back to HSHS. During the week of August 22nd. School begins at 7:52 and students are released at 1:30 pm the first week, after this the normal release time is 3:51 pm.
 
Here is the orientation schedule for the first week of school:
 
Freshmen – Monday, August 22, 2016. Meet in the Case Auditorium there will be a short welcome to prepare you for the rest of the day. Class t-shirts will be distributed. An Ed-Camp for parents will be held in the Activity Center beginning at 5:30 pm. Light snacks will be served. We ask that all parents attend. At this time we will focus on various issues and filling out and updating paperwork.
 
Sophomore – Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Meet in the Case Auditorium there will be a short welcome to prepare you for the rest of the day. Class t-shirts will be distributed. An Ed-Camp for parents will be held in the Activity Center beginning at 5:30 pm. Light snacks will be served. We ask that all parents attend. At this time we will focus on various issues and filling out and updating paperwork.
 
Junior/Senior - Wednesday, August 24, 2016 – Meet in the Case Auditorium there will be a short welcome to prepare you for the rest of the day. Class t-shirts will be distributed. No Ed-Camp for parents this night.
 
Junior/Senior – Thursday, August 25, 2016. An Ed-Camp for parents will be held in the Activity Center beginning at 5:30 pm. Light snacks will be served. We ask that all parents attend. At this time we will focus on various issues and filling out and updating paperwork.
 
All students – Thursday, August 25, 2016. All students will attend classes following their course schedule, and will be dismissed at 1:30 pm.
 
During the day you will receive your schedule, discuss pertinent school rules, and participate in several team-building activities. Remember to dress school appropriate as this is a school day, you may also want to bring a clear water bottle as there are many outside activities. There will also be a barbecue lunch provided for you. We ask only that parents and guardians contribute a salad or dessert to complete our orientation lunch.
 
  • Students with the last name A-M are asked to please bring a dessert.
  • Students with the last name N-Z are asked to please bring a salad.
(food should be dropped off at the high school office prior to 11:00 am the day of
orientation and in a throw away container as they will not be returned)

You can review your schedule on the parent/student portal after June 15th. Schedule change requests will be reviewed during orientation.
