This is my 41st year in education.  My career as a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent has been extremely rewarding.  I was born and raised in Osnabrock, ND and spent most of my career in North Dakota. I graduated with a social science teaching degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND and received my master’s degree in education administration from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. My wife, Danette and have been married for 41 years. We raised our family in Hillsboro, ND where I was the high school principal for 11 years.   Our five children are Kacey (Catherine, Annie, Emma), Kinsey Essler (Jared, Carter, McKenna, Kira), Kade (Amy, Landyn, Ty), Kyle(Angie, Kira, Cooper) and Kiley(Derrick). We have nine wonderful grandchildren! I am currently in my fifth year as Superintendent of the Hot Springs School District.   I enjoy golf, biking, hiking and spending time at our lake place in Detroit Lakes, MN. I look forward to helping the students, staff and community of Hot Springs.
Have a great school year!
