State Golf Results and End of Year Awards

Here are the end of the year awards for the 2019 Boys Golf Season.

 

3rd Year Letter and 3rd Year State Qualifier—Zane Cope-senior

3rd Year Letter and 3rd Year State Qualifier—Jacob Harris-sophomore

2nd Year Letter and 2nd Year State Qualifier—Hayden VanBibber-junior

Here are the results from the State Golf Meet held in Vermillion on 10/7/19 and 10/8/19.

There were 32 schools represented with a total of 103 golfers.

 

The 2019 State Medalist honors went to Little Wound’s Lance Christenson with a 2 day 36 hole score of 157, He represented the west river golfers well!!

 

The team title went to Sioux Falls Christian with a 4 person 36 hole score of 679, 2nd-Tea Area-692 and 3rd-Madison-701. Hot Springs finished 16th with a score o0f 856.

 

Hot Springs was led by Jacob Harris-187(46th), Zane Cope-216(86th), Modes Kerr-224(90th), Hayden VanBibber-229(93rd) and Treg Kilby-294(101st).

Here are the results from the Douglas JV Invite Golf Meet held on 9-26-19 in Box Elder on the Prairie Ridge Golf Course.

Schools entered-Hot Springs, Lead/Deadwood, Pine Ridge, Douglas, RCCentral, ST. Thomas More, Spearfish, Sturgis, RCStevens.

RC Stevens took the team title with a 4 person 18 hole score of 391, 2nd-Douglas-415, 3rd-Hot Springs-419, 4th-Spearfish-420 and 5th-STM-444.

Douglas’s Gage Hodgkins won the medalist honors with a 18 hole score of 87. 2nd-RCS’s Landon Bartling-90, 3rd-STM’s Finn O’Connor-91 ,4th Douglas’s Dayn Phillip-92 and 5th-Spearfish’s Rylan Richards-94.

Hot Springs was led by Modes Kerr-97(7th place), Treg Kilby-105, Hayden VanBibber-107, Terry Reetz-110 and Jimmy Hayes-121.

We play next in the Region 4 Golf Championship in Rapid City on the Hart Ranch Golf Course on Monday 9-30-19 starting at 10am.This meet decides who will advance to the State Meet in Vermillion on 10/8/19 and 10/8/19.

Here are the results from the BHC Golf Championship Meet held on 9-23-19 on the Spearfish Country Club Golf Course in Spearfish.

Schools entered:

Hot Springs, Spearfish, Sturgis, Douglas, Belle Fourche, Custer, Lead/Deadwood, ST.Thomas More.

 

Spearfish won the BHC Team Crown with a 4 person 18 hole score of 330, 2nd-Custer-360, 3rd-STM-427 , 4th-HS-449 and 5th-Douglas-477.

The 2019 BHC medalist honors went to Spearfish’s Sam Grout with a 18 hole score of 1 under par-70, 2nd-Spearfish’s Jack Hight-82, 3rd-Spearfish’s Josh Sundsted-87, 4th-Custer’s Gunner Prior-87 and 5th-Custer’s Austin Eggers-87.

Hot Springs was led by Jacob Harris-102(13th place), Zane Cope-113(17th place), Modes Kerr-117(19th place), Hayden VanBibber-117(19th place) and Terry Reetz-144(27th place).

 

The HS JV was led by Treg Kilby with a 9 hole score of 50 (7th place) and Jimmy Hayes-69.

 

We play next in a JV meet in Douglas on 9-26-19 starting at 10am and then we play in the Region 4 Championship on the Hart Ranch Golf Course on 9-30-19.

Here are the results from the RC Quad golf meet held on the Meadowbrook Golf Course on 9-10-19 in Rapid City.
Schools entered-Hot Springs, RC Central and Douglas, STM did not show.

RCC took the team title with a 4 person 9 hole score of 181, 2nd-HS-206 and 3rd-Douglas-207.

RCC’s Alex Duran won the medalist honors with a 9 hole score of 41, 2nd-RCC’s Seth Stock-43, 3rd-HS’s Jacob Harris and Douglas’s Derrick Brown both shooting 45s, 4th-HS’s Zane Cope-47.

Hot Springs was led by Jacob Harris-45, Zane Cope-47, Modes Kerr-57, Hayden VanBibber-57 and Terry Reetz-60.

We play next in the Douglas Invite on 9-12-19 on the Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Douglas starting at 9am.

Here are the results from the Douglas Golf Invite held on the Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Douglas on 9-5-19.

 

Schools entered-Hot Springs, Douglas, ST.Thomas More.

Douglas took the team title with a 4 person 9 hole score of 197, 2nd-HS-202, 3rd STM-240.

HOT SPRINGS JACOB HARRIS WON THE MEDALIST HONORS WITH A 1 UNDER PAR 9 HOLE SCORE OF 35, 2nd-Douglas’s Derrick Brown-39 and 3rd-Douglas’s Gage Hodgkins-46.

This was Jacobs 1st eagle and 1st sub par round in his golfing career!!!

Hot springs was led by Jacob-35, Modes Kerr-52, Terry Reetz-57, Hayden VanBibber-58, Zane Cope-59, Treg Kilby-66 and Jim Hayes-77.

We play next in the RC Quad on 9-10-19 starting at 4pm and then back to Douglas on 9-12-19 starting at 10am.

Here are the results from the Pre-Region golf meet held on the Hart Ranch Golf Course on 9-3-19.

Schools entered-Hot Springs, ST.Thomas More, Custer, Sturgis, Belle Fourche, Pine Ridge and Little Wound.

Custer took the team title with a 4 person 18 hole score of 365, 2nd-STM-407 and 3rd-HS-432.

Little Wound’s Lance Christensen won the medalist honors with a 18 hole score of 85, 2nd-Custer’s Dustyn Fish-87, 3rd-Custer’s Austin Eggers-89, 4th-HS’s Jacob Harris-89 and 5th-Custer’s Ryder Bailey-90.

Hot Springs was led by Jacob Harris-89, Modes Kerr-107, Zane Cope-117, Hayden VanBibber-119 and Terry Reetz-134.

We play next in the Douglas Invite on 9-5-19 starting at 4pm.

Here are the results from the Sturgis Golf Invite held on the Boulder Canyon Golf Course on 9-19-19.

Schools entered-Hot Springs, Belle Fourche, Sturgis, Spearfish, Custer, Rapid City Central and St.Thomas More.

The team title went to Custer with a 4 person 18 hole score of 348, 2nd-RCC-355, STM and Hot Springs tied for 3rd with 404’s and 5th-Spearfish-414.,

The medalist honors went to Custer’s Dustin Fish with a 18 hole score of 83, 2nd-Custer’s Austin Eggers-83, 3rd-Belle’s Lance Sutter-86,4th-STM’sCade Kandolin-86 and 5th-RCC’s Alex Duran-87.

Hot Springs Jacob Harris -9th-91 and 10th-Zane Cope-91.

HS was led by Jacob-91, Zane -91, Mode Kerr-105 and Hayden VanBibber-117.

Here are the results from the West River Open Golf Meet held in Rapid City on the Meadowbrook Golf Course on 8-22-19.

Schools entered-Aberdeen Central, Rapid City Stevens, Rapid City Central, Hot Springs, Douglas, Little Wound, Pine Ridge & Spearfish.

The team title went to RC Stevens with a 4 person 18 hole score of 305, Hot Springs finished 8th place overall, (we were a little outclassed with all these AA schools).

The medalist honors went to RCC’s Alex Duran with a 18 hole score of 74, 2nd-RCS’s Jonah Swartz-74, RCS’s Ben Daane-75, 4th-Aberdeen’s Ethan Vikander-75.

Hot Springs was led by Jacob Harris with a 18 hole score of 92, Mode Kerr-102, Zane Cope-111, Terry Reetz-119 and Hayden VanBibber-129.

We play next in a JV meet in RC on Monday the 26th of Aug.
