Arrival/Parking

Students will park in designated areas by the football field, on the North side of the Tays building, or in the gravel across from the Grade 6-8 building. Prudent parking practice is expected, and common rules of acceptable parking will be expected. Please respect the privilege of parking on school managed/owned property by maintaining and properly looking out for others. Remember, there are a lot of students walking, running and playing in and around the Hot Springs Public School Campus. Parking on school district property is a privilege and not a right. Thank you in advance for thinking and operating safely. Click here to read more.

Thank you for helping our students "Return to Learn" and GO Bison!

We are now on Facebook!

Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten Info for Fall 2020

Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten families, we are getting ready for you to join the Bison family for the 20-21 school year!

We are getting excited and ready to meet each of you on August 4th or 5th. The Bison Ready Program will be held in the Bison Center located at 1747 Lincoln Avenue. We are encouraging all attendees to wear a mask. We will be maintaining social distancing of 3-6ft.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for the screening process. As you enter the main doors of the Bison Center you will be screened and asked a series of COVID-19 symptom questions.

Please bring the following items to Bison Ready Program:

  • Birth Certificate

  • Immunization Record

  • SSN

  • Mask- encouraged

Thank you for adhering to all the new processes/procedures as we want to keep the safety of you, your student, and the staff as a top priority during this time. See you soon!

The Preschool program will be for 3/4 year olds with a morning/afternoon session.

Junior Kindergarten will be for students who are 5 by September 1st. This program focuses on more social development as well as to bridge the gap between early childhood and traditional Kindergarten programs. Students in this program are eligible for the same services as a kindergarten student regarding school, breakfast/lunch, and busing services.

Kindergarten will be for students who are 5 on or before September 1st, 2020. Students in Kindergarten show they have the developmental, academic, and social emotional skills to excel in a Kindergarten environment.

For more information, please contact Elementary Principal Abby Karn at abby.karn@k12.sd.us.
