Registration is now open for the 2025-2026 School Year. Please use the link below to complete the online registration. For any family that is unable to register online, a paper copy can still be picked up from any of the offices and we will have a registration table with computers available at the August Bison R Back event. In order to keep our information current for every HSSD student, we ask that students are registered each year. The registration forms for 2025-2026 include several items that have not been included in the registration paperwork previously.
A map of the district boundaries is linked here. If your address is outside the district boundary, we can still enroll your child, but we will need an Open Enrollment form also completed.
If your student’s primary residence will be outside of the Hot Springs School District, you will need to apply for open enrollment. You may contact the building secretary for your student(s) to set up a time to fill out an open enrollment application.
We look forward to partnering with you this school year to help your student(s) be the best they can be.
Documents needed for students new to the HSSD to register:
Original certified birth certificate
Immunization records
Indian Student Eligibility Form for Native and Native Alaskan students (Optional)
New to the HSSD: A Request For Records Form Needs To Be Returned To The Building That Your Student Attends. This gives us authority to request records from your child's previous school.
If you need bus transportation for your child(ren), please complete and return that form. The transportation department will be in contact with you regarding pickup and drop off information.
Historical Data for Hot Springs Enrollment is Available at the South Dakota Department of Education website. The link to this information is available by clicking here. South Dakota District and individual school building "report cards" can be accessed by clicking here.
