Dear Middle School Parents,

We want to be aware that state testing is coming up soon. We will be testing on April 21 & 22 (Math 6-8), April 29 & 30 (ELA 6-8), and May 6 (8th grade science only). Classes are reviewing concepts to help students prepare. We ask that you avoid any travel and appointments during this time if possible. Make-up testing is difficult for students and the school. We appreciate your partnership.

When testing comes, we encourage students to sleep well the night before and to eat a good breakfast the morning of testing. We want students to perform at their best. Doing so will inform our school about our approach and whether or not we need to make any changes.

If you have any questions, please ask.

Regards,
Kain Klinkhammer
Secondary Principal

HSSD families: Due to unintended confusion, we have decided to make Friday, April 10th as a no school day for students. Instead, our staff will be engaged in professional development that morning. Thank you for your understanding. Monday, April 6th is still scheduled as a no school day for students and staff.

The Hot Springs School District has been in contact with the emergency management department for the county. We have been told that the City of Hot Springs will not be impacted by the power outage, just outside of city limits. The HSSD will continue to be in session through today and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with warm classrooms and hot meals.
