It is IT Professionals Day today. The Hot Springs School District recognizes Mr. Orback. Mr. Orback is always busy helping staff and/or students. We would not be able to do so many things without Mr. Orback's help. Thank you Mr. Orback for everything you do for the school district.

Below is information we received from one of the Cosmetology/Nail/Esthetics/Massage schools in Rapid City: We are gearing up for a Fall Open House at Paul Mitchell - The School in Rapid City! Open House is scheduled for October 8 from 5:00 – 7:00 (Mountain Time). See attached flyer for details. During our Open House, everyone will experience fun mini services that are FREE to anyone that comes! This event is open to the public! They are free to bring friends & family with them! This event gives students the opportunity to learn about the education they will receive when enrolling into one of the four programs that we offer. We offer education in Cosmetology, Nail Technology, Massage Therapy, and Esthetics! They will also get the chance to learn about our school culture, funraising efforts, and community events that we take part in to offer a wide variety of experiences for each student. One huge career right now is becoming a Medical Esthetician! I always like to share with everyone that if they enroll in the esthetics program which is a 600-hour program, 22 weeks long with perfect attendance, they will be able to start working as an esthetician while they continue their education in nursing. Another factor to remember, if a student earns a bachelor degree and qualifies for Pell Grants with student Financial Aid, once they have a bachelor degree, they will no longer qualify for Pell Grants. Financially, it can benefit students to complete an undergraduate certificate or undergraduate degree in these instances before pursuing a 4-year degree bachelor program! During the Open House, they will also have the opportunity to ask questions about financial aid & scholarships!

As if Homecoming week could not get anymore exciting, we heard that our new playground equipment will be getting installed next week. Besides new rubber mulch, border timbers, three ADA accessibility ramps, we are getting three new pieces in the preschool area.

Happy Homecoming Week! We take time this week to promote a spirit of unity and pride for the Hot Springs School District. There are many activities that students are going to have fun with and create memories. Homecoming goes beyond our athletic and activity event. Homecoming is for every single student in our district, past and present. We welcome back all alumni and a special welcome back to the Class of 1974 for their 50th reunion.
